Gross Oversimplification: Is It Possible (Or Necessary) to Write Outside Metaphor?
approach the metaphor with hands outstretched – whatever seems to be “cookie” to the metaphor (where did I hear that – ?) have one, floating on the left palm — in the other, hold yourself out: perhaps being taken is a given, but I find that waiting without thinking of it as a wait works well, as well as eating the cookie while being carried off by the metaphor — you like chocolate with pecans, and a dusting of powdered sugar?
